Awaken – Communities united to end sex trafficking
Awaken conducts outreach and provides direct services to women and girls to help them transition out of commercial sexual exploitation (CSE). Nearly all victims served by Awaken have had a history of emotional, physical, or sexual abuse.
We help program participants with long-term and emergency needs including basic outreach, mentorship services, counseling, transitional housing, transportation, financial aid for college, legal and medical assistance, drop-in center (detail below) and much more.
Boys & Girls Club of Truckee MeadowsThe Boys & Girls Club of Truckee Meadows is all about creating a place where every kid feels safe and connected: a place to belong and a place to become. This is that place for nearly 14,000 youth in 40+ locations across Reno, Sparks, Fernley, Ely, Tonopah, Panaca, and Winnemucca. We are a place for kids to go before and after school, during school breaks, and during the summer to grow beyond the classroom. We help kids and teens achieve great futures by providing a safe and fun space, an engaging Club experience, and caring professionals to guide them along the way.
Girls on the Run Sierras
At Girls on the Run, we inspire ALL girls to build confidence and make intentional decisions, while fostering care and compassion for self and others. Trained coaches use physical activity and dynamic discussions to build social, emotional and physical skills in every girl while encouraging healthy habits for life.

The Children’s Cabinet
At The Children’s Cabinet, our mission is to keep children safe and families together. We provide programs and services at no charge to youth and their families in our community. We support young children to young adults, so that they can thrive within their schools, their families, and their neighborhoods. There is no wrong door, and we will ensure those who need us are provided the proper resources regardless of their circumstances. Under the spiritual direction of His Eminence Metropolitan Gerasimos, the Greek Orthodox Bishop of San Francisco, Saint Nicholas Ranch continues to fulfill its original mission: To provide programs for the spiritual renewal and growth of the faithful, in an atmosphere promoting the wholeness of the individual, body, mind and spirit, and to be a resource center for parish needs, offering religious education, retreats, conferences and leadership development programs for all ages, reaching out especially to the youth.

A local faith-based non-profit organization whose mission is to increase awareness and education surrounding the issue of commercial sexual exploitation and to provide housing and restoration for its victims. Awaken acts to transform our community with the ultimate goal of eradicating commercial sexual exploitation. We aim for victims of commercial sexual exploitation to be restored to their fullest potential. We aspire to be an inspirational model for other communities.
